Agape Singers - God's Love On Tour - Ireland 2007

The Agape Singers is the high school choir of University Presbyterian Church - Rochester Hills, Michigan. "Agape" is a Greek word used in the New Testament to signify the love that Jesus taught. Agape was chosen as its name as the word reflects our mission: The Agape Singers are loving, caring people, united with a purpose to glorify God through song, inform all God's people about God's love, spread the word of God through song, and inspire love, hope and passion for faith in God.

a note from East Belfast and Cregagh Presbyterian Church...

We in Cregagh Presbyterian Church in East Belfast are looking forward to meeting and hearing the Agape Singers next Thursday, 12th April. Some of our young people will be involved in StreetReach an outreach majoring on practical projects around the city next week but they hope to meet up with your folk in the evening.

The weather here has been unusually great for the last week and set to stay fine over Easter too.

Hope all the preparations go well and everyone has a safe and memorable journey to Ireland's Green Isle, once known as the land of Saints and Scholars. Our media image has slipped somewhat since those days but the last 10 years, and especially the last 10 days, have seen dramatic signs of hope in our political situation and atmosphere - an answer to the prayers of so many for so long!

The Agape Singers are planning a peacemaking choir mission tour to Ireland, April 8-16. Our stops will include the Corrymeela Centre at Ballycastle. Located on the northern Antrim coast, Corrymeela is "an ecumenical community of Christians committed to a shared future, peace and reconciliation; a community that welcomes people of all faiths and none, and from all backgrounds, traditions and cultures." During our time at Corrymeela, the Agape Singers will rehearse, participate in a day-long orientation and peacemaking workshop, sing our first concert in Ireland, as well as make day trips to Belfast and the Giants' Causeway. There will also be time for soccer, exploring the lovely town of Ballycastle, and enjoying the seaside air and scenery. For more information on Corrymeela, visit their website at www.corrymeela.org. Other stops along the way will be: Belfast, Dublin, Cookstown, the Book of Kells at Trinity University, among many other activities.
